Jonathan Edgington, MD, is a fellowship-trained joint replacement surgeon at North Point Orthopaedics in Munster, Crown Point, and Valparaiso, Indiana. He specializes in treating patients with hip and knee arthritis.
Dr. Edgington completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Florida, majoring in microbiology while competing as a Division I student-athlete on the varsity baseball team. He completed his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, where he decided on a career in orthopedic surgery. Throughout his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Chicago, he developed an interest in total joint arthroplasty as well as caring for orthopedic trauma patients.
He went on to complete a fellowship in adult reconstruction and joint replacement at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in downtown Chicago, Illinois. He learned specialized techniques in caring for patients with everything from primary osteoarthritis to those with failed surgeries or deformities requiring complex joint replacement surgery.
As a resident of Northwest Indiana, Dr. Edgington is proud to provide high-quality and contemporary orthopedic care to the community. He believes in putting his patients first, honest and transparent patient communication, and caring for patients how he would like to be treated. When not at the office, Dr. Edgington enjoys spending time with his wife, Katelyn, and his three sons, Austin, Jack, and James. His hobbies include golf, baseball, and watersports.
